The author's appeal
Dear readers!
The modern world does not stand still, therefore, discoveries made in various fields of science become familiar phenomena for us. However, behind each of them lies the work of scientists, volunteers and other involved persons, which should not be forgotten. On the contrary, we should remember every scientist who has made a contribution to science, his work in the name of free human development, well-being and the opportunity to live at a qualitatively new and better level corresponding to international principles, the main of which is the principle of humanity.
The need to focus attention on this issue in the conditions of the present time has become one of the tasks and, at the same time, the reason that prompted the writing of this work and, as a consequence, a deeper study of the need to pay due attention to achievements and consolidate them at the world level.
At the time of forming the basis for the study and formulation of the block of tasks, other problems were identified that directly follow from the above question. These include:
1. Lack of due attention to the terms of contracts and agreements on the part of ordinary consumer citizens;
2. The presence of a "close and dangerous" side to each achievement, invention;
3. Failure to pay due attention to measures aimed at ensuring the safety of employees of enterprises;
4. Irrational use of the achievements of the present to the detriment of proven and safer mechanisms and inventions.
The purpose of the work is to analyze the possible future through the prism of existing problems and negative trends in the development of society.
I express the hope that the goals set and the problems raised, achieved during the writing of this science fiction work, will have an expected impact on modern society and public consciousness and will change the course of history in the direction of achieving a harmonious and competent use of the achievements of the past, present and future. In addition, it seems possible to influence to some extent to ensure the proper level of consolidation in the history of achievements, regardless of the time of their commission and other circumstances that can detract from the significance for reasons beyond the control of the personality of scientists and the invention itself.
With respect,

Critical system failure
December 10, 206... was not a remarkable day in the series of previous ones. This was due to the lack of discoveries that were made by scientists of the world day by day, but by some chance they bypassed the date of December 10. The reason for this could be clear plans accompanying the life of each person in the conditions of a new era of "information dependence", which does not tolerate suspensive inclinations, inaccuracies and deviations from the planned plans and approved algorithms, or careful preparation for the day of commemoration of the complete transition to virtual reality of the main aspects of public life. Most likely, the second option had greater truthfulness, since such an event could not, in the opinion of authorized persons, fade against the background of a message about a grandiose achievement in the field of science.
This seemed to have its own logic, but it did not add any material for the news release. This fact has become a separate obstacle for a journalist-reporter who carries out his activities under the short pseudonym U.E. "There are no distortions of reality, only up–to-date and verified information that meets the criteria of admissibility, relevance and completeness and meets the needs of the population, consumption-oriented scientific data, global-scale information and traditional "spectacles", which, unfortunately, it is not possible to get rid of, even at the present stage of society's development," - this motto is an algorithm which U.E. heard on his first working day, bound him with rigid limits that cannot be overcome even taking into account the creative orientation of the profession of a journalist.
The opportunity to "spy" news-related data from colleagues from other news agencies had no chance of successful implementation, since each article, report was checked by the "Uniqueness" system, which, when identifying borrowings of more than 10%, blocked access to the publication of this information. Paraphrasing, with all the skill of replacing words and rearranging sentences, was recognized by the system as borrowing, since "Uniqueness", along with checking the textual or oral parts of the news, analyzed the semantic component and compared it with the entire array of data available to the world population. This was the implementation of the unspoken law of modernity: "Be unique, or not be at all."
However, in the case of U.E., the "don't be at all" part meant the termination of the journalist's activities with subsequent employment difficulties arising from the possible formulation of the reason for dismissal "does not meet general professional requirements", which is capable of putting a huge cross on his professional career. Such a prospect, which seemed to be walking on the heels of W.E., made him think, think and think. Of course, in a tense situation, this turned out to be the worst. But there was no choice, as well as the option to stop time.
– Time, time. Why does it flow so rapidly, leaving no news material behind? – W.E. glanced fearfully at the indicator of the clock mechanism built into his desk. – There must be something new and spectacular in this world! – of course, there was such a thing in the world. And the journalist soon realized this too. – Virtual world. Although we do not often use it to cover events, but such a form of information retrieval is not prohibited. In addition, it may even be possible to become an eyewitness of the event for future news material.
U.E. did not delay the realization of his "last hope". He left his office and headed to the laboratory to immerse himself in virtual reality. Before that, he notified the head of his intention by voice message, so as not to disturb him once again and not to catch his eye empty-handed. However, he did not receive an immediate response, which somewhat puzzled, but did not stop U.E.
The journalist stood in front of the door leading to the laboratory. It was equipped better than the entire office, which was explained by its purpose and the dangers associated with the operation of the virtual reality system. The most serious danger was the possibility of a serious malfunction, which could be fatal for a person using a virtual reality system using the newest and most experimental equipment. Such equipment was available to the Otkritie news agency. In this regard, the laboratory was under strict protection, carried out through the most advanced technologies, which, despite their good purpose, caused an additional waste of such precious time, but even a journalist, with all his desire and need to be in a hurry, could not change and, accordingly, speed up the procedure for admission to the laboratory equipment.
The mechanism built into the door recorded the identity of U.E. by means of authentication by the iris, and having received a positive result on a request for permission for this employee of the Otkritie news agency to use the specified premises and equipment, notified the accompanying employee in the laboratory about the journalist's desire to get into the laboratory. The accompanying employee, having made sure that there was no error on the part of the security system, unlocked the entrance mechanism from the inside. Now the door could be easily opened, which the journalist did. When entering inside, the light automatically turned on, and the necessary equipment began to turn on. Despite the fact that until today, U.E. had been in this hall more than once, he was afraid of making a mistake and pressing the wrong button. He did not tell anyone about his fear in order to prevent the destruction of the image of a typical person of the information age.
After full activation, a diagram appeared on the screen containing information about what actions and in what sequence should be done under the supervision of an accompanying employee in order to launch the virtual reality system correctly and without failures. U.E. went to the chair, which was highlighted and indicated by the number one on the diagram. "The first step. Sit in the chair." Made by.
"Step two. Select the type of auxiliary equipment to connect. " There were several types of this equipment in the laboratory: screens, glasses and bracelets [3], that is, the most outdated technologies and more affordable, but at the same time safer due to the ease of disconnecting them from the virtual reality system; a chip with experimental capabilities that greatly facilitates and accelerates the process of connecting to the system. I had the opportunity to use the chip because I was a volunteer in the framework of the "Near Future" program aimed at faster development of the technological component of public life.
"The chip embedded by our scientists in the human brain opens up new horizons of virtual reality for him. The chip, unlike cheaper analogues, does not need to be recharged, since it uses electrical impulses of the brain to maintain performance. Also, the chip has a tissue shell made of the DNA of the future host, thanks to which it receives resistance to wetting and high temperature, is not rejected by the body and does not cause discomfort. Our development uses amplification of brain biofield radiation to connect to a virtual reality technology that captures and adapts them. In other words, the human brain directly begins to interact not with a real body, but with a body that is "located" in virtual reality.
However, we have to warn that this technology has a significant disadvantage – any potential failure can be life–threatening, unlike ordinary glasses or lenses that can be removed at any time," the journalist recalled how the organizers of the "Near Future" program offered to become a volunteer, explained the subtleties and advantages of using chips in a virtual environment. reality and made a big discount for the first ten volunteers, who were supposed to represent one of the most significant fields of activity in modern society and prove themselves as promising employees.E. met these requirements and was one of the first to sign the necessary papers, but a warning about a potential failure worried him every time it came to using a chip to get into virtual reality.
"Step three. Checking the integrity and serviceability of the chip." This stage did not require any additional actions from the journalist, it was only necessary to wait patiently for the results of the verification carried out by the system independently, which should also appear on the screen. However, for some reason incomprehensible to U.E., the accompanying employee, by performing a number of manipulations, forced the system to proceed to the next step without confirming the fact that the check was fully completed.
"Every visit is new innovations," the journalist thought, noting that despite the "skipping" of the full–fledged stage, the time of immersion in virtual reality has not changed for the better, but, on the contrary, has become longer compared to his past experience of interacting with the system.
"Step four. Connect the recording device." U.E. looked at the text on the screen with incomprehension, since the chip allowed recording and taking over other people's memories and knowledge, thereby negating the need to use extraneous technical means to record information. After a few seconds, new inscriptions began to appear on the screen one by one, replacing each other. "The recording device is being checked." "Verification passed." "The recording device is successfully connected."
"This is what too new equipment means for its time," this thought distracted the journalist from establishing parallels between this hitch and the possible manifestation of a system failure.
A new text appeared on the screen: "Step five. Check out the updated terms of use of the virtual reality system." This step remained on the conscience of the user, but with a small caveat. The conditions did not disappear from the screen for fifteen minutes, i.e. the average time required to read them. Thus, the developers sought to "force" users to familiarize themselves with the terms in order to avoid various kinds of proceedings and violations of the interests and rights of each of the parties to the contract.
Although U.E. was a law-abiding citizen, he could not stand long texts of the terms of use. The fine print, abstruse wording drove him into a drowsy state.
"Fifteen minutes of looking at the screen in the hope of understanding something. What a pity that the countdown is not demonstrated. At least I would have known how long to wait," willy–nilly, the journalist still began to read individual lines, located mainly at the beginning.
They did not contain fundamentally new information. "Terms of use. Ways to disable the system in manual mode. What to do if the virtual reality system crashes." U.E. drew special attention to the item devoted to the issue of emergency evacuation from the virtual reality system: "Emergency evacuation is carried out automatically when a threat appears, but the experimental chip carries the risk that this type of evacuation must be activated by the user on its own..." The screen turned green, notifying about the expiration of fifteen minutes and offering to move on to the next stage. The journalist did not finish reading the last paragraph of the conditions, which was the longest and finely written. He touched the bracelet, and new information appeared on the screen.
"Step six. Confirm that you are ready to dive into virtual reality. Keep an eye on the indicator of network congestion and the presence/absence of external failures."
The journalist mentally said "yes", thereby confirming his intention to immerse himself in virtual reality. An image of a familiar reality appeared before his eyes, but modified as a result of the almost continuous activity of scientists and specialists in the study of its algorithms and ways of cognizing the familiar world through virtual reality [1; 4].
U.E. found himself on the main street of his city, in the center of which there was a pointer, through interaction with which it was possible to be anywhere in the world and in any historical epoch, except for the future. The journalist went to the sign, simultaneously trying to figure out which place in the present can be visited. But no special ideas came to mind. The first difficulty of virtual reality, which was supposed to solve all the problems of U.E., in his opinion. But reality is reality, whatever it is. In this respect, virtual reality is even more calculating, orderly and incapable of compassion and leniency towards humanity.
U.E. did not want to give up so quickly, so he began to study the index with great attention, since there could be data on people who were in this reality and certain places like him. The journalist touched the pointer display [2; 5], flipped through the options of places, studied the map, switched image modes.
– There are so many functions, but there is no necessary one, – the employee said, continuing to press the display further, looking for the desired section among thousands of tabs, which became more and more with each click. At some point they disappeared, returning the journalist to the starting point of the search.
– Sir, can I help you? – a strange voice came to the ear of W.E., which made him shudder. It was so unexpected to hear an offer of help here and to interact with others, and not the observation that the journalist was counting on. – Are you okay?
He turned around and saw a silhouette approaching.
– I'm fine, but I need help, – admitted U.E., without thinking much about the consequences, since demonstrating his ignorance in the field in which he directly found himself was a manifestation of bad taste in modern society. In virtual reality conditions, the situation should have been even worse. "But in no case do I want to bother you and distract you," he hastily added, remembering the ethical norms.
"I hope that with my last words I won't scare away someone who can help me."
– Don't worry about this, I, like all members of the scientific expedition, have a five-hour break. Therefore, I will have time to help you, and to complete a number of tasks that have been postponed for a long time," the stranger approached the pointer and took off his glasses, the glasses of which were covered with a small coating. – Where do you want to go? – He did not wipe the glasses, but only folded them and hung them on a special clasp of his work suit.
– To tell the truth, I'm looking for people who are about to make a discovery or something else, but suitable for the news format, - uttering these words, U.E. became embarrassed, because virtual reality should be used for higher, important purposes for society, and not to save his own person from dismissal.
– The truth is appreciated in our region, – the stranger thought. – Yes, and your goal can be considered worthy with the proper level of media coverage.
– Don't worry about the level, the editor–in-chief will not allow the promotion of poorly written material, - the journalist recalled how the editor-in-chief dealt with unsuccessful reports that were immediately deleted without the possibility of making edits.
– It's not about how you present the material, but about making it not an ordinary second-rate news that will be published on the penultimate or last page in the corner and which most readers will not even reach. Science should not be in the background, especially to be pushed for the sake of five–minute sensations," the stranger looked intently at the journalist, noticing his reaction. Nonverbal communication has always been more truthful than traditional oral communication.
U.E. understood what the stranger was talking about, what he was pointing to.
"Can I really promise to do something that doesn't depend much on me? And how exactly will I ensure the proper placement of the received material? – time passed, but the problems of journalism remained the same. "But, perhaps, if the material is perfectly disclosed by me and contains something new with the application of images, then in the conditions of the meager information flow of the present day, it will almost with one hundred percent success get on the front pages of our magazine."
– I promise to do everything possible and impossible so that the news gets proper coverage and attention from the public, – U.E. took a deep breath, without taking his eyes off the stranger, and expected another verdict for that day.
– Well... then follow me, – the journalist took these words for approval and followed the stranger, who hurried to put on his glasses. – Don't fall behind and don't believe everything you see.
"It's easy to say don't believe. And how can you not believe it if you see completely empty streets and unusually fenced areas in the middle of them," U.E. suggested that due to the long break of workers, which most likely coincided with the time of most of them, it was so quiet and deserted around.
Nevertheless, he did not express his speculations and silently followed the stranger, who repeatedly chose winding paths on his way and looked around with interest from time to time. This stranger was very alarming to the journalist, who did not lag behind him.
At a certain stage of the journey, the journalist noticed that in this reality there were also remote poles, the indicators on which were gradually changing in the direction of increasing the numerical value: 200 km, 201 km, 202 km, 203 km, 204 km, etc.
The stranger stopped abruptly near another remote pole with a numerical value of 160 km and turned around.
– Here we are, – the complete incomprehension written on W.E.'s face caused a slight smile on his face. – I told you, don't believe everything you see, – the stranger held out a second pair of glasses similar to the ones he was wearing now. – Put it on and get ready to record your news material.
The journalist carefully took the glasses and, trying not to scratch or damage them, put them on. He blinked several times.
"It's impossible," he just said, looking around. They were in the middle of a scientific center, which had a lot of different kinds of equipment for research, and most importantly there were a lot of workers, each of whom recorded something on electronic media and performed certain manipulations with the mechanisms at their disposal.
– It was impossible twenty years ago, now it's a routine that no one ... – the stranger looked at U.E., – few people will be surprised. And you won't be surprised now either. But I won't distract you. As soon as you're done, tap the glasses sensor three times and I'll take you out.
– I think that I will continue to be surprised for a long time. But thanks a lot for the help and the opportunity," U.E. adjusted his glasses and went straight down one of the corridors of the center. The light rather strangely illuminated the space of the corridor along which the journalist was walking: the lamps then went out, then changed the temperature and brightness of the light. However, the lack of reaction to such a "play of light" on the part of others contributed to the fact that it was perceived by U.E. as something common for virtual reality, despite the obvious violation of the principle of stability, which was one of the key in the conditions of virtual reality.
Throughout the journalist's journey, scientists replaced each other and did not react to him in any way, as if they did not notice him. This fact also turned out to be unusual for a journalist, but less fantastic against the background of everything else. U.E. carefully examined the mechanisms that were involved by scientists. The mechanisms were very diverse: small in size were mainly used to record results or work with substances that were dangerous to touch without equipment, the journalist suggested; large and medium, on the contrary, performed actions instead of people, but under their supervision. Some of the mechanisms even spoke different languages, which was due to the multinational composition of specialists, and offered scientists a number of algorithms and solutions. That is, we actually worked with them on an equal footing.
What he saw could very well become part of the report. The realization of this prompted U.E. to speak aloud what he saw, so that the chip would record everything voiced.
"A well–thought-out virtual reality system, after all," the journalist went on, noticing and voicing interesting achievements.
– It is quite interesting how the ideas about the future differ from the future itself, which has become a reality. Twenty or thirty years ago, science fiction writers assumed that people's bodies would consist mainly of artificial structures created by scientists in order to overcome fatigue and a number of serious injuries. However, now we see that scientists have relied on the capabilities of the human body, or rather the ability to regenerate under the influence of special ointments and self–destructing structures, passers-by to the missing part of the organ, but differing in the temporality of its activity and stimulating the body to restore the lost part of the organ - U.E. realized that he was on the right track to create a report, and maybe even a series of informative popular science articles. – So, several scientists are conducting an experiment in this field in real time. The volunteer is a person, and not the animals familiar to the past years. Why did he decide to experiment? The answer is simple: there is an injury associated with the loss of a limb of the hand, and the opportunity to leave life with a number of limitations in the past is a decisive factor for a volunteer. I really hope that the scientists will succeed this time, – the reaction of the scientists prompted U.E. to conduct a more careful observation of their actions. – Okay, wait, wait. I can't believe, when comparing the original pictures of the volunteer and the present state of his brush today, it's hard not to notice the result. Positive result. Of course, scientists do not show their joy until the experiment is completed in connection with the achievement of their goals. However, even now the burning eyes and lively conversations speak for themselves. And the volunteer's reaction only complements the general mood.
The information received by the journalist fit the criteria of the reportage, which could not but please him. However, it was necessary to give even greater reliability to the material, by specifying the surnames and initials of scientists who had overcome another facet of the impossible.
U.E. began to look closely at the badges and pronounce surnames and names aloud, some of them by syllables due to certain difficulties with writing and perception for a journalist.
"The last touches are left, and the job is done," the journalist flashed in his thoughts. And it was the truth, combined with the personal victory of the employee over the difficulties that this day had prepared for him.
All surnames and names were read by the journalist and recorded by means of a chip. He turned around with a calm soul and headed in the opposite direction from the scientists in order to leave this scientific center and get home. On the way to the entrance, his gaze fell on a group of specialists who abruptly began to turn off the devices and adjust each other, leaving the virtual world system. They literally threw everything as it is and tried to get out into the real world, but the system gave an error. Some, however, managed to get the long-awaited notification about the operation and leave virtual reality.
"What caused such a rush?" – the journalist turned around and noticed that a similar commotion was going on in each of the groups of scientists and specialists in a similar degree of intensity.
U.E. didn't like it very much. He touched his glasses, wanting to call the stranger who promised to bring him back. But he was in no hurry to come. The journalist began to panic, looking at how some succeed in the battle with the system and return to the ordinary world, while others do not. And the second was the majority.
As in addition to the panic incomprehensible to the journalist, the system of the scientific center began to issue error messages, and the whole room lit up with a red light. Like movies and books about disasters. But now there could be no catastrophe, because everything is reliable and calculated to the smallest detail by the developers, and then by the virtual reality system itself. However, what was happening and the genuine reaction of others suggested that the failure had occurred, despite its improbability.
The journalist began to touch the frames of his glasses more strongly and look around. The hope that the stranger would come gradually faded.
"I'll have to act on my own," the journalist thought and ran to the exit of the scientific center.
And just before the door he was met by a stranger, whose expression was extremely disapproving.
– Why did you stay here after the first data of the system about the network overload? Why didn't they try to leave the virtual reality system as soon as it became clear at the behest of everyone else that it was bad?
– I ... did not monitor the sensors and was not aware of such a large initial load exerted on the system, – the journalist muttered in response.
"Terms of use... the hateful fifth step with a fifteen–minute timer," - the realization of how simple carelessness and inattention inherent in U.E. to the legal details of agreements and contracts led him to the end of not only his career, but even his life, like lightning pierced his mind.
The journalist wanted to scream from his own stupidity and almost hopeless situation.
– I do not know how to even try to get out, – confessed W.E. unable to look at the stranger, who, although he came to his call, but certainly unable to help him.
– Then we can only hope that those who know what needs to be done will help you from the outside, – the stranger's voice became calm, as if he was talking about something ordinary. With this kind of development of the situation, there is no need to panic. – And until then, contemplate the dark side of virtual reality, which is certainly not talked about either in your media or in the terms of use, even more so.
– But why don't you leave if you know how to escape?
– Because I don't need it. While the system is working, I am working. Accordingly, in the event of its disconnection, to which everything is now going, I will also disconnect. And you don't have to look at me like that," the stranger frowned. – A long time ago I signed a contract to live exclusively in virtual reality, which allows me to see what ordinary people do not see, hear what they do not hear, and in the end live more than everyone else. Solid advantages for a man of science, for someone who is involved in the creation of the surrounding world.
– This is the real discovery of the day, on the verge of something great and crazy, – and then the light around finally went out, leaving the journalist's remark unanswered.
Everything was plunged into darkness. The journalist's mind could not cope with her and submitted to her strength and silence.
Epilogue
On December 11, 206... separate fragments of news were broadcast on television outside the scheduled broadcast:
"00:00 local time. The virtual reality system began to issue an error to all users who wanted to start using it. It was impossible to bypass and fix it, technical workers are powerless.
01:01. The preliminary nature of the error became known: system overload. The nature of this overload is not yet known to specialists.
01:32. All TV channels and radio waves began broadcasting messages about the need to leave the virtual reality system and help neighbors and loved ones with manual logout.
01:43. Security specialists announced the main reason for the unexpected and such a major system failure – the hit of a virus program into the local server of the virtual reality system, which caused a critical failure, which resulted in the imprisonment of some users inside the system.
01:55. Urgent information. After getting into the system, the virus program gradually began to block certain functions of the virtual reality system. According to preliminary calculations of specialists, when most of the system was affected, the laboratory server was automatically blocked in order to minimize negative consequences.
02:06. Authorized bodies in the field of control and supervision of the state of the virtual reality system form lists of victims as a result of the failure and blocking of the server and develop an action plan to rescue citizens.
02:27. We publish lists of victims and those stuck in the virtual reality system. Please, if an inaccuracy is found, write to the email address: News_world@otkritie. If you know additional information about what happened, then please write to the same address with the attachment of all the necessary materials, in your opinion.
02:48. Urgent notification. The chief engineers and programmers of the laboratory managed to save the journalist from imprisonment in virtual reality. Sources report that the employee's condition is stable, and the equipment to which he was connected has completely fallen into disrepair.
02:57. The pseudonym of the rescued journalist became known to us. It turned out to be U.E., a promising employee, ready, as we see, to do a lot for the sake of his profession.
05:38. During the investigation by the security authorities, it was found out that a virus program previously unknown to mankind got into the chip used by U.E. as an additional equipment of the virtual reality system complex.
05:49. The organized criminal group of cyber-terrorists "The Future is under threat" (organized criminal group "BPU"), notorious for a series of cyber attacks on databases of international organizations, research centers, individual servers of famous scientists engaged in developments in the field of virtual reality, took responsibility for creating a viral program called "Criticism".
08:59. Some details of the cyber-attack on the virtual reality system committed by the BPU organized criminal group have become known.
The security authorities came on the trail of an accomplice, who was an employee of a special laboratory monitoring the serviceability of the virtual reality system, who transmitted information to the BPU organized criminal group for a large reward. As a result of the illegal actions of the employee-accomplice, members of the BPU organized criminal group learned about the "Near Future" program, within which volunteers were given the opportunity to use the chip for simplified and more functional interaction with the virtual reality system. One of the volunteers was the journalist U.E. Cyber-terrorists came out on his trail, deciding to use U.E. as a wrapper for a virus program.
Through the assistance of an employee-accomplice, a virus program "Criticism" was introduced into the journalist's chip, which subsequently remained unnoticed by the virtual reality system due to the disconnection of its individual components, which were responsible for detecting virus programs.
09:10. U.E. and the Otkritie news agency are being held legally liable for non-fulfillment of the terms of the agreement on the use of the chip, which resulted in the failure of the entire virtual reality system.
We present the content of the violated terms of the agreement "Clause 221. The Party (User) is obliged to notify support about failures occurring at each stage of using the virtual reality system via a chip. In case of non-fulfillment of the obligation imposed on the User by this paragraph, he is held liable in accordance with the legislation."
11:22. Journalist U.E. made an appeal to our viewers and announced the release of a series of articles in the magazine "News of the World", in which he is ready to talk about how he managed to escape and what he saw beyond the light."
As expected, in the 142 issue of the magazine "News of the World" dated December 12, 206 ... a whole series of articles on the virtual reality system was published, under the authorship of the journalist U.E. The content was different, but in general could be characterized using the concepts of "horror", "simply impossible". Excerpts from the articles were placed on the cover of the magazine:
"The darkness was kind to me this time and released me from its shackles, but not without the help of the laboratory staff and the Otkritie news agency.
As I was informed later, a few hours after I sent a voice message about my intention to use the virtual reality system, it was nevertheless received and read by the supervisor. The voice message did not bring much delight, but the goal to inform was achieved. And it was she who played the most important role in this story.
After a series of news releases about an unusual failure of the virtual reality system, it surfaced in the head's memory. He tried to contact me, but there was no response to any of the numbers: personal or work, my social media accounts have also been inactive since the time the voice message was sent. The lack of an opportunity to contact led him to the idea of my possible imprisonment in the system.
At the same moment, the chief engineers and programmers of the laboratory, who had a night shift, received an urgent message to check the laboratory with the equipment of the virtual reality system.
I express my gratitude to my colleagues for their efficiency, ability to navigate in such a difficult situation and willingness to take risks in conditions of unpredictability of the system.
I am sure that there are many such heroes among the entire population of the planet. They do not wear raincoats, but just stand by, read everything-all the terms of contracts and agreements and use the knowledge gained at various briefings.
