Member of the international jury of the Scientific Works Competition. He received a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Sao Paulo, a master's degree from the Alberto Luis Coimbra Institute of Postgraduate Education and Engineering Research of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (COPPE), a Doctor of Technical Sciences from the National Graduate School of Electrical Engineering of Grenoble, France. He is a professor at the COPPE Polytechnic School and director of the Interdisciplinary Social Development Core (NIDES) at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He has experience in electrical engineering in subjects such as electronic converters, fuzzy control applications and neural networks in the control of electric machines.
