PREFACE

As a student of Architecture at the Catholic University of Cuenca, the idea of this science fiction story arose after the need to present an academic project at the beginning of the year 2020, based on the health crisis caused by the appearance of the Covid-19 virus, which brought with it a worldwide pandemic where people and families went into isolation.

 

After the circumstances that the world was going through, one of my main objectives as the author of this narrative, was to make the reader think and reflect on the events that were taking place around the world; and to idealize how it is that each person can have in their hands the fate of society, the environment, biodiversity and the world as such.

 

Under these circumstances, it was not difficult to create a science fiction story where the world is visualized in a complete chaos and apocalyptic, bringing with it a stage of overcoming and hope, relating all this in a futuristic and implausible scenario, so that the reader is trapped by the plot and thus can get to receive the message it is intended to give.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

INTRODUCTION

This story tells about the circumstances that made one day humanity take a new change in the total role of life in the year 2020 and what led to the change of living conditions after 500 thousand years later.

After a pandemic that evidenced the social divisions based on material conditions splitting into two worlds the first corresponding to the brilliant beings called Orun and the other of the poor who were banished from the advantages and comforts that gave the material goods are those who remained on earth with the only thing that characterized them which was their big hearts, with the strengths that made them great and so they called them the Renaissance.

In their foolishness to maintain their individualistic order, the inhabitants of the Orun kept their riches, but they lost the true treasure or the reason to live because a father lost his daughter, sons lost their parents, grandchildren lost their grandparents, etc., all because of their egos.

The story of the reborn is totally the opposite, it is a life of self-improvement in search of truth; without particular ambitions, sustained in the future of the planet and at the end of 2100.

The two societies are examples of challenges that after the needs are overcome and allow to always look for something else.

 

 

 

 

CHAPTER 1

Beginnings of the Apocalypse

 

10 million years ago humanity suffered a blow that placed them in an unexpected danger, since they had little chance of survival, had to take on new challenges to defend themselves and adapt; the story tells from the beginning of the XXI century, exactly in the year 2020, also known as leap year, dead year, among other adjectives; since here began the apocalypse, where there were millions of dead in the world, due to a pandemic that ended with life, families, their dreams, hopes and illusions, creating fear and uncertainty in them. All this caused by a virus called Covid-19.

 

 The story tells many years ago where life was fleeting, unprincipled and unexpected, where there were no values, when society only qualified you according to what you had, and not for what you were worth as a person, where people considered you for what you had in terms of material and not for anything else, where the price of objects weighed more, where there were no ugly people but rather poor people. It is precisely in that social and existential crisis of the people, when a virus arises in the Asian continent that little by little was expanding throughout the entire planet, with time it was deciphered that it was created in a laboratory, with the aim of monopolizing the great capitals and with it to eliminate the low social stratum, since according to the population of the so-called upper class these were people who did not serve, ignorant ideology absorbed only by the hatred of others; That is to say, this sad cruelty was intended to eliminate the lower social stratum, but what its inventors never imagined is that they could lose total control of the spread of this form of contagion, which in the end was so unpredictable that it got out of the hands of its creator, transcending the whole world regardless of the color of the skin, bringing with it acute effects, as people died daily, some with difficulty breathing, others with shortness of breath, pain or pressure in the chest and even some were left unable to speak or move, with frequent bleeding, with physical exhaustion and emotionally finished until they reached their last breath; And this is when the odyssey of our great family began, today five hundred thousand generations have passed.

 

And thanks to the selfishness of the human being, the classism of society and the circumstances described above, humanity was divided into two worlds; we who live on earth and the privileged who are in the Orun, a majestic place that is located somewhere in space or in the galaxy.

 

In both worlds life will take completely different directions; on the one hand, the low social stratum that decided to be reborn as a phoenix, and on the other hand we have the high social stratum with its materialistic and pragmatic ideologies, since according to them there was no value, but only the price, and whoever could not cover this price could not belong to the Orun.

 

The worst part is taken by the people of the lower social class, known as "The Renaissance"; since after the apocalypse that they lived the contempt of which they were victims and the total poverty in which they remained, this small; But at the same time a great part of the population had to make very authoritarian decisions, such as the increase of new laws or as they called it "Golden Rules", among one of the most outstanding was the law of respect for biodiversity, with this they intended to respect the few trees and animals that remained, as they clung desperately to their last resources of life.

 

As the years went by, it could be observed how the continental drift was giving the land its degraded configuration, being this also one of the consequences for this whole process of social segregation to occur even more strongly. Since the Renaissance people who were left to survive on the land with 90% contamination and without the necessary requirements to be able to comply with the treatments for its disinfection, they were again in the need to start looking not only for the origin of the problem as such, but also for the solution to go from surviving to living in a dignified and optimal world.

After several generations of research on the subject, and after several years of hypotheses found, it was confirmed that the virus was created in a laboratory by one of the great capitals of the world, led by Alex Smith who at that time was president of a world power, In his diary that was found, he explicitly stated that his goal was to end poverty and the only way for him was to eliminate the middle and lower class population because he detested poor people, since according to his retrograde thinking they only generated costs and expenses, as they did not serve for the growth of capital. But he never imagined what he was going to live in truth, since with the passing of the years the descendants of the rich people were people who for centuries lived served and in a comfortable way, who were satisfied with their lifestyle, without making an effort to grow their economy, but on the contrary with the passing of the years they were ending with the great capitals, and what is more important ending with their physical integrity.

 

Faced with this situation they began to live in a total imbalance in the Orun, giving a natural catastrophe, as little by little the weakness was taking over their bodies creating a kind of porcelain dolls, so they saw the need to merge their human body with robotic parts, creating a new species the cyborg, all of them full of wealth and power, but without spirit of humanity; However, all their urban and architectural development was never affected, on the contrary, they gradually developed a new sustainable, technological, functional and formally magnificent world.

 

Meanwhile on earth, the years have passed and after this unexpected odyssey where no one was prepared, with people who had many fears, who were fragile and sensitive to the unknown, they gradually managed to survive and excel, which was the most important thing because after several years living in an uncertain way, they concluded that part of the solution was to return to the beginning of the creations, based on their new principles.

 

With this, after several changes, they finally set out to recover their lives, leaving their nomadic life that they adopted due to the apocalypse, a survival that led them to stay in the forest with the uncertainty of being infected and exposed by the CV-19, Tired of the life they were leading and the danger they were in, they began to build new homes, which were created as capsules capable of flying based on technological advances obtained from their previous world and that is how they returned to the origin of everything, back to a nomadic life, but now traveling in the comfort of their own home; For their food supply, they created parks called "leap parks" in honor of the origin of the apocalypse; these parks were centers and parking lots for their dwellings, in which they recharged all their basic services at night to survive during the day.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

CHAPTER 2

A new era has begun, those from below create their Orun.

 

After the world apocalypse, the segregation of humanity and after all the circumstances and conflicts that occurred over the years, we could see a light of hope within the Renaissance, as they gradually with their faith and effort were adapting to their world, taking their needs to create their strengths. Since it could be observed how they were creating their habitats, retaking the concept of housing, but they still did not leave aside their fear of contamination and death, so each family created their "house", that is, each house was built at long distances from each other, and for all these experiences that happened throughout humanity people were locked in their own worlds, in their own buildings, which were designed and adapted according to their requirements. And this is how a house in the form of a floating capsule was born, since the fear was so great that any vest, overalls or protection that man used at the beginning of this apocalypse, were no longer useful enough because the virus was gradually becoming stronger, and not by the invasion of the same, but rather by the fear that people had, the frustrations that marked times or simply the fact of remembering the irreparable losses.

 

These new homes were shaped like oval capsules, with a high-end technology, since among its functions were embedded a biosecurity protocol of very high level, which was activated only if someone left the capsule, however, at the time of entering, the capsule also brought with it a mini disinfection capsule, so that when traveling could be parked in the parks bisiestos, where they recharged the basic services, these load requirements were made according to their usefulness, but rationalized according to their identification. It is very difficult to try to describe such a great capsule that was created, since every detail, no matter how small it seemed, had a purpose, among these impressive features we can denote its structure, since in its upper part it had embedded solar panels which were intended to give life and electricity to the entire home, using purely renewable energy for the entire capsule.

 

This energy collection was completely necessary because inside these homes had a heart of commands. Each house became completely independent, as well as each family, since they all respected the social distancing, with the objective of continuing with their nomadic life but now each one, in their home, embraced an ambulant and totally organic life in order to avoid the least contact with others, and this is how they lived for decades.

 

These floating capsules were created to adapt to the new world, their windows were designed with a mechanism of blinds that would disinfect the internal environment of the house, the internal spaces of the house were adequate for a human being, we stopped designing the minimum for a family for the simple fact of being of a lower social stratum than others, the spaces of the house became optimal, the technology with respect to the cleaning was automatic, bars were implemented to exercise, since in some way it was necessary to relieve the energies of the human being, but as for everything that concerns the house it turns out to be comfortable for a family.

 

Everything remained the same everywhere, however, in one of these traveling capsules there was a family a little different from the rest of humanity. Since they were never satisfied with the distance that humanity imposed, especially the young man named Momo of approximately 22 years old, with a very sober appearance, he had light honey-colored eyes, curly hair and mixed skin color, but what stood out most in his personality was his look of courage that he possessed.

 

One day, this daring young man decided to explore the world, which involved leaving the comfort of the capsule, what he never imagined was that his audacity and courage would improve the situation of the planet, because in the middle of his exploration he could discover a new world that for him and the whole humanity was very uncertain because absolutely everything he saw and felt on his way was sad and colorless, everything in his visual circle was just a scale of grays; However, having walked so far, he found a glimmer of hope, because in the midst of so much gray he saw small species of vegetation. And this is when Momo began to collect, count and revegetate these small species found, experiment and cultivated new species that were daughters of large trees and at the same time the only ones that existed, with all these acts of daring and honor began to be seen as were the origins of everything as little by little everything was repopulating vegetation.

For the first time in history, in the earth there was no difference of social classes as time went by the houses became more technified, these capsules had a coating of an armored metal which would withstand almost any blow as well as its glasses that were impenetrable. The new circumstances that the Renaissance had to face, which consisted of returning to the beginning of human development as nomads, gatherers and hunters, had to include in the lower part of the capsules weapons destined to the house, being these mechanisms controlled from the heart of the house, which happens to be the living room, and this is how humanity returned to its origins of killing an animal by necessity and no longer by conviction with the only difference that now humans did not do it with their hands literally, but they did it through the intelligent capsule, since its commands were like a control console.

 

These capsules were designed to float because of the need to keep moving constantly, little by little humanity was losing the fear of pollution rates which prompted them to think about their needs to feed and care for themselves, creating capsule concentration parks where they could already recharge the basic implements or dispose of waste, made systems of water collection and treatment that served to fill the cisterns that had the capsules for consumption of housing.

 

They also had a specific space to dispose of waste, a parking lot for organic waste and another for inorganic waste, since they did not want to relive the past due to the consequences of pollution. With these wastes that were already selected separately it was much easier to recycle, so that the planet would be purer, more beautiful, less polluted and why not repopulated with biodiversity that humans protected so much, over time these parks Bisiestos, were implementing different recreational areas, such as meeting spaces for children, But at that time mankind still did not leave their fear or panic to meet the past, so they still did not leave their homes, but their way to distract each other was from their homes and seeing each other through the front glasses that the capsule had.

 

These parks and their new spaces grew even more with the passing of time and it is here when our protagonist, the brave Momo, in the middle of his journey of exploration begins to know the diversity in terms of animal species and discovers that among all these species there is a special one. A vertebrate species conception that had an extremely special color, its skin looked like that of a reptile, but its color was so diverse that it resembled a beautiful sunset, its diversity of colors was extremely bright and its movements were extremely agile like a snake; without a doubt it was a new species; never seen before.

 

Momo with his inquisitive personality began to study and analyze this amazing creature, and in all this process he realized that this species emanated a type of gas that served as protection against larger species, which at the same time prevented it from being attacked. After studying this emanation, he realized that it had the necessary components for protection against the virus that for so many years had plagued humanity; He knew that this protection had been sought for years by the best scientists and professionals in the world, and that is why even he did not believe what he had found and the value of his hands, so, without wasting time and relying on his knowledge Momo creates a machine that replicates this animal species, with the sole purpose of using its skin as clothing, since his most cherished dream was to relive the stories that his parents read to him when he was a child, a story in which all humanity was free again.

 

With the recreation of this species invented the famous fluxon suits, these were overalls with the color of this majestic animal species, which served the purpose of protecting humans from contamination in the outskirts and this is how the world relates that thanks to the help of Momo, his creations and discoveries finally made the human being could leave their capsules and free themselves, go out and socially interact with humanity, run without fear, go out and walk in nature with no one to stalk you, go out with the children and see them grow, walk and run in a natural way and without confinement, they can play like real children, return to the freedom that humans had before the apocalypse, for the first time and thanks to his invention began to be new areas in the bisected parks, areas where humans went out to live together as the social species they were, recreation areas were given but now there was already physical contact between humans and without technology in between. 

 

These parks at the beginning were aimed directly at children, since their defenses were higher and their bodies being small required less moxidin skin for the manufacture of their fluxon suit, over time this invention turned out to work, and that is how humanity began to leave their homes without fear and uncertainty of the consequences. Little by little the past was left in history, the humans of the earth returned to what they were before, with the physical contact many feelings came to the surface with people began to fall in love as they did in ancient times and humans became more organic leaving technology aside.

 

Among the changes that this magnificent invention brought with it was the reproduction of human beings in a natural way, since people reproduced again as they did in the beginning, through love and affection they had for each other; without chemicals or technological advances, where women were artificially fertilized for 500 thousand generations, but nevertheless the way they lived was enjoyed more and more every day.

 

The population began to leave their homes and seek new horizons, new directions, some more explorers than others; while Momo's family was very proud and happy because, due to the feats of courage and honor of his son, the land today was recovered, one of the proudest of the family was Daniela, Momo's sister, she was a girl with a tender appearance, but with a very captivating and bold look, at the same time with a very messy curly hair.

 

This is why this beautiful girl decided to leave home, because since she was a child like her brother, she wanted to discover new horizons, she dreamed of someday touching the earth with her own hands, she loved nature and everything around her, however, her trip had only one purpose, to find a precious gem, since her brother was fascinated by precious stones, his favorite was the emerald, this day was a day of joy and prestige for her family and that is why Daniela went in search of the precious gift for her brother, while she was searching for it, she found a cave that radiated a resplendent light in the middle of the night where when she entered she noticed that such beauty came from a very, very deep tunnel, in the deepest part of it shone a blue light combined with a majestic white, without hesitating she entered and found the lights, A circle of almost 4 meters radius that at its base contained a parking lot large enough to park a floating capsule, this apparently was a majestic machine but unknown to the reborn, not even Momo the most adventurous human could have deciphered what this machine meant, the only thing they knew about it was what was visualized that was its bright outline with these colors.

CHAPTER 3

True riches

 

Daniela started this amazing journey, when she started to hear strange sounds in the echo of the tunnel in which she was not really distinguish where they were born, when suddenly without her realizing the big ring of light, began to spin on its axis, but without any order as it went from one direction to another, when in the midst of all this inexplicable chaos began to see a white light, that little by little was opening a portal to another world, a world that for her was mysterious, since there were so wonderful and unknown things, among what she could visualize were the houses of that space, some better than others, along also distinguished large skyscrapers, and all this environment brought with it a technology too futuristic according to her perspective and model of life to which she was accustomed.

 

Daniela realized that she was in the so mentioned Orun, which for years was the protagonist in many of the stories that her parents had read to her as a child, the world looked very developed architecturally, she saw passages between the mansions, cars flying and many more things, there were even springs where the water somehow levitated in space. But what he could also notice was that in this world humans were no longer one hundred percent human; that is to say, there were beings that pretended to be a fusion between a human and a robot, at first sight it could be seen that their skin was no longer the same, there were humans with robotic limbs, something that in his eyes was very revolutionary.

 

The houses of Orun were truly unimaginable, we could not even compare with the homes of the reborn, the materials designed with the latest technology, huge skyscrapers that were adapted to levitate in space, anywhere in the galaxy, their houses which white cloud that only seeing it generated a tranquility, not to mention its colors, fruits and magnificent animals; But Daniela did not know that and the unknown frightened her, she returned to the flying diamond to return back to earth and between desperate cries full of tears for her joy and sadness at the same time, she left the cave in search of the only person who would dare to experience what she lived, that is how she went to her brother Momo so he could look at such an amazing and inexplicable world, its technology and architecture and why not bring the best of Orun, to make the earth a much more developed planet.

 

Daniela told everything to her brother Momo and this is when he embarks on his journey and goes in search of a new journey, eager for the unknown begins his exploration, with a hunch that he did not understand, but in love with the beauty that Daniela expressed about Orun. With this he entered the flying diamond and found what beauty his sister told him, some houses that generated tranquility just by looking at it, an aphrodisiac vegetation and some gallant animals to say the least, anxious to penetrate this majestic Olympus, even more than he had already done, He entered an altar covered by the flying diamond, what he still did not realize was that this diamond protected him to such a degree that no inhabitant of Orun could see him, throughout his journey he witnessed how the most majestic beauty shone that he had never even imagined in his life, While on his excursion he was distracted by a woman, her beauty was as majestic as no other, her appearance was strange but beautiful at the same time, she had human skin, but in certain parts of her body could be seen inlaid with robotic limbs, She wore a white dress that showed her robotic arms, for Momo was a young girl very different from the stereotype of women he knew, but for some strange reason his heart began to beat very fast bringing with it a feeling of nerves and joy at the same time, this beautiful girl was called Ailin.

 

She was nothing more than the daughter of the magnate of Orun who protected her in such a way that she could not even step on the ground if it was not covered with something, Momo stared at her and in his desperation to see her closer, he began to monkey all the buttons of the flying diamond, and without realizing what he did he opened a crack and fell in front of her, when they looked at each other; Without words they realized that they were made for each other, and from there was born an explosive and defiant love in the face of adversity, a love that crossed spaces in such a way that she decided to go in search of a new world with Momo, hidden they entered the flying diamond and went down to earth, to be part of the reborn where they made a life, but it could not be so perfect.

 

In her search for the unknown Ailin was contaminated, since her skin was very weak and her defenses too fragile, this is because all her life she lived in a daily comfort and in a bubble without exposing herself to any adversity; because of this Ailin's life was in danger, she was debating between life and death; with little chance of survival. The fear that Momo had just thinking that he could lose her surpassed the barriers, so he goes in search of a new cure for this young girl who had won his heart.

 

To begin his journey he decides to go to Orún, since there he could find more technology that could help him, and that is how he decides to enter the flying diamond once again; but this time, while monetizing the controls he could realize that the dimension that opened did not take him to Orún, but was a passage in time that took him to another era. Here he finally understood that the diamond was not only a transporter tunnel, but also a time machine and that is how he decided to risk everything he knew to return to the past and avoid the apocalypse, giving another chance to humanity, and here we are, living an era in which we decide our future, and the future of all humanity once again.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

EPILOGUE

 

To conclude this story of strength and self-improvement of society in difficult times, this essay is written in the genre of science fiction about the future of the planet and humanity at the end of 2100, based on a real fact of our present time. Then it is possible to conclude that the housing of any social class will depend on the circumstances faced and the needs that arise at that precise moment for self or communal development. The purpose of this narrative is to transmit to society that we do not need to reach the last circumstances of the CV-19 apocalypse to become aware of our actions, since we do not have a time machine to start over.
